I was really lucky to get a table for dinner right before they closed for 2 weeks for Christmas and new year's. We had some great natural wines by the glass (they are happy to let you try them all and then choose) and the food was also phenomenal. I think this was the best meal I had in vienna. We had a vegan foei gras but it tastes just like the real deal if not better! Also had a sourdough with dip which was great (and this is considering that I am really not a fan of bread). Staff is great and atmosphere is great. High recommend!

Cozy and elegant, it was the perfect place for our girls’ wine night :) we had house wine with some starters which were amazingly fresh and delicious. Prices are not the best but definitely fair.
Make sure to order bread & butter!
We were really impressed with the restaurant. Given we were english speaking we were really grateful that our waitress spent a lot of effort with us giving us options.
We were also impressed by the wine options. We couldn't have finished a bottle of wine between two, but were giving really good wine tastings to then buy per glass which is the best experience.
Cocktails were solid, and so is the tasting menu! We were totally blown away by the food - the sourdough (wow i never had bread this good, apparently the baker only make 100 loaves every week in a very old oven (over few hundred years old)), and the pate, who knew mushrooms could be so good better than a meat pate any day! The mackerel + dashi, and the mexican beef tartare were also highlights. The dessert sounded weird, but when you taste it - it works. There is some interesting alchemy in the food, the chef has a good palette.

Went to Cafe Kandl as a solo diner :) The space is welcoming, has a good playlist, a garden, patio, and tasteful main dining room. The service was personable and helpful. The sommeliers have great taste - all the wines I had were memorable and carefully selected. The wines were explained well, and fun to drink. I enjoyed my time there, and it really was a highlight of my time in Vienna!
Love this place, great ambience, menu, wine and service. We had a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to all involved
